Teotihuacan: Teo Poems
by Raven Smith
Hell
Pointed voices
Lost in thought
Agonies of the past
Replayed in an endless loop
Only the witness
Can sort the past
From the present
Removing the brambles
From the altar of now
Quetzalcoatl
Endless depths in eyes so wide
They bridge the expanse
Between earth and sky
Open heart
Wings unfurled, shimmering coils
Enfold the world
Compromise nothing
Open so wide
Inspiration is here
Open your eyes
Death
Infinite compassion
Endless time
Light of clear truth
Shines from her eyes
Nowhere to hide
Nowhere to run
You are not special
To everyone she comes
Gateway to living
With passion for life
Finding her now
Will remove all strife
Plaza of Earth
Let go of the shadow
Of material, of form
Let go of the body
Into which you were born
The you that you are
Is not the you that you see
Let go of this attachment
And set yourself free
Bury this body
Bury this weight
Of believing you are
Something you ain’t!
